Review
The Sadie Hoffmiller series continues with book number nine, Baked Alaska. The novel has a little of everything, murder mystery, romance, and recipes to make your mouth water at the end of several chapters.
Baked Alaska is a page-turning read
full of twists and turns keeping the reader guessing to the end. Just when you
think you've figured out what happens, another clue leads you in a new
direction. Kilpack masterfully creates
wonderful characters you either love or hate.
Sadie Hoffmiller, the main character, is an amateur sleuth with the
ability to find herself involved in crime solving no matter where she is. In this, the ninth book of the series, Sadie
and her family are on a cruise to Alaska.
The plan was to enjoy family time with her two grown children and her
boyfriend, Pete, planning her daughter’s wedding and contemplating her own
impending marriage to Pete. However,
Sadie becomes suspicious of her son and a mysterious woman. And the plot thickens!
Baked
Alaska is the first in the series of the nine books I have read. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and definitely
recommend this book to readers who appreciate a good wholesome mystery with
characters that are both likeable and believable. I definitely plan to read more books in the
series.
