Back from Florida, USA slipping between tropical storms and potential hurricanes! Some big news here in Panama...we are having our first book signing and launch at Hombre de la Mancha book store in David. We will also have the books in the Panama City book store. The David store are doing a 'cheese and wine' on Thursday September 11th. This day would have been Mum's 97th birthday. So we are very excited!
Back from our trip to England...cold and expensive! We had good success in promoting Mum's book, "Ladies of Class". First of all we went to Mum's Library in Burgess Hill, Sussex and saw the Ladies of the library. We gave them a book and they are going to stock it. We then met with the Chairman of the Historical Society in Burgess Hill and donated a book. He was very pleased to receive the book and said that it will be on their shelves also. We managed to talk to the Managers and Buyers of several bookstores in Burgess Hill and Stratford Upon Avon. We are hopeful that they will purchase copies for their stores. But we glad to be back home in the warm in Panama!
Sandy Lender will be touring "Ladies of Class". April 3rd will be the book review and April 4th the tour. Go on over to Sandy's blog, leave a comment and check out Sandy's works.
Mike has been doing some research on the initial location that influenced Mum in writing Ladies of Class. For those who have read chapter one, here are some pictures of the park and church located in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, England, called Burshill in the book.
Life in Panama is moving along nicely... soon to move into our new house!
The publishing date for Ladies of Class has been postponed. It will now be in print on November 15th 2007. We needed more time to get settled into our new life and do all the required edits on Mum's book . But we do have an ISBN number and the cover page is being re-vamped. Will post the new cover as soon as its ready.
Well here we are in May and in Panama. Less than three months "Ladies of Class" will be in print. Working hard on getting eidits done, learning ways of promoting and marketing, as well as learning the 'ropes' of living in Panama. Looking at houses, vehicles, shops and trying to 'pick-up' a bit of Spanish on the way. Well... asking for the Bano (bathroom) is important!
Well here we are in Panama, nearly two weeks and getting sorted out. It all takes time! But hope to soon be able to focus more on Mum's writings and promoting "Ladies of Class", which is coming up for publication July 30th. Lots of work to do!
I am working on getting my deceased mother-in-laws writings published. Ladies of Class is one book that will be coming soon on Vrintage Romance, July 2007.
